Tumble down The Rabbit Hole
in LaToia Jaine's
latest novel

The Weight of Grahams

Every touch awakens ghosts she’s tried to bury...
When her estranged father’s death rips the past wide open, Edily is dragged into a rabbit
hole of toxic lovers, family betrayals, and obsessions sharp enough to draw blood. Her
mother’s venom runs deep, predators circle close, and her bloodline threatens to choke
her with secrets too twisted to forgive.
Dark, erotically charged, and dripping with Southern Gothic grit and Midwest noir soul,
The Weight of Grahams isn’t just a story – it’s a reckoning.
When lust and pain dance too close, when love tastes like punishment...
Is freedom even
REAL?

LaToia Jaine is a Chicago-born and raised author whose work refuses to be shied away from.40 years old, melanated and unapologetic, she pulls the stories from the marrow of the bones beneath the streets that raised her—its concrete, its
contradictions, the deafening silence amidst the noise which impotently attempts to mask the inescapable stillness. The voice of her pen is profound in its composition - at times erotic in its tone - precisely cutting through to the heart of the matter, confronting the sociological and psychological aftermath of sexual
abuse. Nothing is softened. Nothing is wasted.
Before fully claiming the page, she worked in Chicago’s Alternative High Schools as an
administrator and cheer coach. There, she bore witness to raw, unfiltered trauma; stories of
survival, loss, and resilience that now live within the lines of her work. Many of her narratives
are stitched together from the experiences of those she nurtured, in an attempt honor their pain without exploiting it. All the while displaying and forcing the reader to witness the humanity in situations which MANY choose look away from.
LaToia Jaine is an artist in every sense of the word. She is bold, relentlessly creative and mysterious in her process. Her work does not seek your permission, nor does it offer you comfort for comfort’s sake; It challenges, unsettles, and lingers. You, Reader, are invited into the depths of desire, damage, and healing,We dare you to stay.
